Alan B. Miller Hall is going up!

Construction has begun on Miller Hall, the future home of The Mason School of Business, and we're keeping track of the progress! Check back regularly for photo galleries, aerial shots, video updates from the project manager, and other news from the construction site.

Rex Unplugged

Rex Holmlin, P.E. PMP is the Project Manager overseeing the transition of Miller Hall from drawings to bricks and mortar.

Holmlin has more than 28 years experience in the planning, design and construction of public works projects. He graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Engineering and a Masters degree in Business Administration.

A former engineer officer in the Army Reserve, Holmlin was recalled to active duty for disaster recovery work following Hurricanes Andrew, Marilyn, Georges and the attack on the World Trade Center.

Alan B. Miller Hall

While the exterior of Alan B. Miller Hall will harmonize perfectly with the historic soul of the campus, its interior will be open, airy, and completely modern: 

  • 3 floors and a partial basement
  • 2,465,870 cubic feet of volume
  • 11 classrooms designed to be easily reconfigured depending on need for tiered, clustered or flat floor classrooms
  • Two 24-seat seminar rooms
  • A 4000 sq.ft. multi-purpose conference room
  • 7000 sqare feet of shell space for future academic centers and classrooms
  • An electronic trading room/classroom for financial markets courses
  • An enhanced business library and communications laboratory
  • A cafe with seating for more than 100 guests plus an outside patio
  • 350 windows
  • 2 fireplaces
  • A Leadership in Energy and Environmental  Design (LEED) silver-level certification, with emphasis on durable, low-maintenance and sustainable materials
